Why Purchase Essiac with Sheep Sorrel Roots?

Unfortunately, most of the public is unaware of the necessity Rene placed on sheep sorrel roots in her Essiac formula, and so most companies do not include them in their herbal blends. (That’s why this group does the work of finding vendors that *do* include the roots, and add them to our approved vendor list). We only include vendors that provide the 4 herb blend Rene Caisse used.

Rene Caisse’s Quotes on Sheep Sorrel Roots:

The herb that will destroy a cancer is the dog-eared sheep sorrel, sometimes called sourgrass. The entire plant must be used.” [April 4, 1974 letter to Dr. Stock; Ref. ESSIAC, THE SECRETS OF RENE CAISSE’S HERBAL PHARMACY, p. 28]

The reason I offered to send you more material was because I know you cannot get the entire plant. You can buy the crushed leaves but they are no good alone. I found this out when I needed so much, when treating three to six hundred people afflicted with cancer every week for eight and a half years. I do know that the whole plant is needed.” [January 1975 letter to Dr. Stock; Ref. ESSIAC, THE SECRETS OF RENE CAISSE’S HERBAL PHARMACY, p. 30]

I am very shocked at the way your people are using the materials I sent you. The way they are preparing it for injections is an absolute waste. They might as well inject sterile water….They are just using leaves and stems, leaving out the roots. They are a part of Essiac.” [August 4, 1975 letter to Dr. Stock; Ref. ESSIAC, THE SECRETS OF RENE CAISSE’S HERBAL PHARMACY, p. 31] (side note: we do NOT recommend EVER injecting Essiac Tea. Ever. Rene Caisse tried it and STOPPED doing it.)

Dear Dr. Stock; I am worried about not receiving any reports on the tests. I thought about the way the lab had been preparing the material for the tests, and why they were not getting better results, so I read over their preparation and found that they were only using the leaves and stems, leaving out the roots, which are very essential in the ‘Essiac’ for treatments.” [June 14, 1976 letter to Dr. Stock; Ref. THE ESSIAC BOOK, p. 123,

Other creditable sources on Sheep Sorrel Roots:

A living witness to the Essiac story who worked with Mary McPherson, Barbara Kokotsis, also confirmed that sheep sorrel root was indeed part of the Essiac formula. Click Here for the story on Barbara Kokotsis in connection with Rene Caisse and Mary McPherson. Click here for an interview with Barbara Kokotsis.“Essiac tea should contain a significant amount of sheep sorrel roots. The bare minimum should be about 10% sheep sorrel root in relation to total sheep sorrel content (at least 1.6 oz root to make a total of one pound (16 oz) of whole sheep sorrel herb including roots). However, a higher percentage of sheep sorrel root increases the potency of the tea.” [Source: HealthFreedom.Info]

Why are the roots good to have?

Sheep sorrel root is a powerful astringent. By drying out excess moisture from in between cells, this protects healthy cells from wastes in solution lingering around them. It also prevents cancer cells from building up concentrations of chemicals which allow them to prosper. The tissue can be referred to as “toned”, which is to say it is primed for absorbing the beneficial chemicals present in the blood due to consuming Essiac tea.” [Source: The Essiac Mechanism]
